No More Room in Hell 2 Objective Mode

Learn Objective mode’s mission rhythm, scaling tasks, team movement, Supplies, respawns, early exits, and final extraction in No More Room in Hell 2.

Objective is the large-map mission type in No More Room in Hell 2. The CRC gives the team a linear progression of tasks, but spawn positions, carryable locations, selected scenarios, and pressure can vary. The dependable way to play is to follow the current compass objective, regroup before interactions that start pressure, collect Supplies without abandoning the route, and decide deliberately between an early exit and the final high-stakes extraction.

Understand the mission loop

Phase
Team priority
Common failure
Deployment
Orient with the compass, identify the active task, and move toward other Responders.
Looting outward while isolated until the team is too far away to help.
Objective approach
Clear a retreat lane, locate required interactables, and announce carryables.
Starting a holdout while teammates are still searching buildings.
Scripted pressure
Protect interactions, manage entrances, and keep the required item recoverable.
Everyone watches one doorway or chases kills away from the task.
Transition
Reload, share medicine, check infection, and move before the route closes.
Spending the safe interval in separate loot rooms.
Extraction
Reach the called exit and survive its sequence.
Treating the extraction call as mission completion before everyone is secure.

The launch notes say objective difficulty scales with the number of players remaining when a task begins. This is why starting an event before a late teammate arrives can be costly even when the interface allows it. Carryables such as fuses also have more spawn variation and may appear farther from their associated device than in earlier builds.

Read prompts instead of memorizing an obsolete route

Each Objective map has a recognizable geography, but a useful guide must not pretend every run uses the same opening or item placement. Armageddon removed the former Bio-Scanner initial scenario from Power Plant, moved Hospital ventilation parts, and changed several task and route details elsewhere. Those changes make old Early Access videos especially risky when they tell players to visit a fixed prop before checking the live mission.

Use the compass objective log as the source of truth. Read the action verb: restore, locate, carry, defend, destroy, tune, or extract. Then identify the marked area and divide work without moving the required object out of that area. If a carryable disappears, look at the objective location and recent path before scattering farther across the map; 1.0 includes safeguards intended to return misplaced objective items.

Manage a team across a large map

Responders may enter far apart. Early movement should reduce that separation while preserving stamina and health. Use proximity voice or pings to name a landmark, not “over here.” When two groups meet, quickly state useful ammunition, medicine, infection, and the active objective item. The goal is shared understanding, not a full inventory recital.

At a holdout, assign spaces rather than kill counts. One player can protect the interaction, two can watch distinct approaches, and a mobile player can respond to a breach or retrieve a required object. Rotate before a lane collapses. If an ally falls, say whether the route to them is open; several rescuers entering the same blocked doorway can convert one downed player into a wipe.

Supplies, progression, and extraction

Supplies are collected for the CRC and converted into Credits at final exfil. The launch overview says a final evac awards character experience and Credits based on the whole team’s collected Supplies. Rare Supplies can occupy inventory space for a larger return, so compare their value against ammunition, treatment, or an objective item needed to survive the next stage.

Early extraction appears after a short period and preserves the Responder, but it gives no character progression and only a small portion of Credits under the current launch overview. It is the correct choice when infection time, ammunition, team strength, or route knowledge makes the finale unreasonable. Final extraction offers the full progression opportunity but exposes the character to the last high-pressure sequence.

Permadeath remains possible on Beginner and Normal if the team wipes before a respawn point or someone dies after extraction has been called. On Hard and Nightmare, the Responder is at risk from deployment. A Rescue Beacon blocks one applicable loss but is consumed and occupies a loadout slot.

Pick difficulty for the route you know

Beginner keeps control hints and objective reminders visible, reduces ordinary zombie effective health, and uses frequent respawn timing. Normal respawns after completion of a major objective. Hard and Nightmare increase reward multipliers while raising horde composition, density, resource pressure, and permanent risk. Scripted sequences also change their speed or enemy amount with difficulty.

Learn a map on Beginner or Normal, then increase difficulty when the group can explain its task handoffs, retreat lanes, and extraction plan. A higher reward multiplier does not compensate for repeated roster losses. Use Difficulty for the exact 1.0 reward comparison.

Prepare for a specific map

The current Objective set includes Power Plant, Broadway, Pottsville, Lewiston, Beaulieu Hospital, and Raven Rock. Each has a Steam achievement for completion on Normal or higher. Read Power Plant Objectives, Hospital Objectives, or Raven Rock for the map-specific official changes documented in this guide set.
