Current public label

Armageddon 1.0, full release for the base game. A Steam BuildID is not being used as a player-facing semantic version.

Latest official communication

August 13, 2026: Oceanic server and matchmaking changes were active; two hotfix groups and several investigations were described as future work.

Player action

Separate “released,” “planned,” and “under investigation.” Keep using the current workaround until a later official post says the associated fix shipped.

How to read the status timeline

An announcement is not a patch. “Slated,” “aim to fix,” and “under investigation” indicate intent or active diagnosis. A released update needs an official notice that the build or hotfix is available to players. This distinction is especially important during launch week, when a planned fix can be specific and credible without being installed yet.

The base-game identity is Steam AppID 292000. Four additional AppIDs—4250550, 4250540, 4250630, and 2089150—are cosmetic DLC packs released on August 11. They do not define a gameplay edition, separate test client, or required progression package. The original No More Room in Hell uses AppID 224260 and must not supply patch notes for this timeline.

Platform scope also matters. Steam is the native Windows release. Crossplay communication can include PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series when the developer explicitly names those platforms. A console fix, Steam Deck rating, or GeForce NOW investigation should not be converted into a universal PC change.

Current player-facing boundary

Armageddon 1.0 added Survival, Raven Rock, Solo, Merits, weekly Assignments, platform achievements, and the guided Tutorial. It also changed difficulty behavior, melee balance, Skill-pool contents, maps, loadout systems, and other gameplay surfaces. Early Access guides using 0.x rules are historical unless their steps are reproduced in 1.0.

The current official Steam metadata lists Windows as native, Online Co-op, Cross-Platform Multiplayer, Steam Achievements, Full controller support, Steam Cloud, DirectX 12, and 35 GB of available storage. Steam Deck is rated Playable in the August 13 developer communication, but that does not publish one best setting for every Deck model.

Launch-week matchmaking and stability were still moving. Torn Banner added an Oceanic server in Australia and changed matchmaking parameters on August 13. The developer was also investigating queue time for players with crossplay disabled. Use the live result when choosing a server or queue strategy rather than assuming the launch-day behavior is permanent.

2026-08-11 — Armageddon full release

Type: Released milestone

No More Room in Hell 2 officially left Early Access on PC with Armageddon 1.0 and launched on consoles. The developer’s launch overview explains Responders, Objective and Survival missions, infection treatment, Supplies, Credits, extraction, difficulty, and persistent character growth.

  • Up to three Responders can be managed at the campsite, each with a starting Skill.
  • Phalanx bottles have three doses; gene therapy cures infection and only one is stated to spawn per match.
  • Early extraction preserves a life with no character progression and a small portion of Credits.
  • Final extraction grants character experience and Credits based on the whole team’s Supplies.
  • The four known launch-day Steam DLC products are cosmetic packs, not gameplay editions.

2026-08-10 — Armageddon 1.0 update notes

Type: Released version notes

The 1.0 notes establish the new feature and balance boundary used by current player guides. They describe Survival’s preparation and three-wave structure, the three Survival maps, Raven Rock, Solo, the Rescue Beacon, Merits, weekly Assignments, achievements, Tutorial, difficulty changes, melee tuning, Skill-pool changes, and map updates.

  • Survival uses five-minute speaker-defense waves, supply drops between wins, extraction after three successful waves, and an early option after two failed waves.
  • Solo has no traditional progression and zero permadeath risk.
  • Beginner, Normal, Hard, and Nightmare have different guidance, respawn, pressure, and reward behavior.
  • Many melee weapons received tier, damage, stability, or speed changes, making pre-1.0 rankings unreliable.
  • Carryable placement and scripted objective pressure were adjusted, so route guides must allow current-match variation.

2024-10-22 — Early Access launch

Type: Historical milestone

The base game first entered Steam Early Access on October 22, 2024. This date remains relevant to historical reviews and old search results, but it is not the current release-state label after August 11, 2026.

  • Early Access videos and guides can identify player questions but cannot establish current 1.0 values.
  • Old Steam search text may still show the earlier date or Early Access genre label.
  • Current App Details and the developer’s full-release announcement take precedence for present player status.

Keep planned fixes separate from shipped behavior

As of the check date, Hotfix #1 and Hotfix #2 do not have a later official release entry. Continue using the August 13 workaround for customization-related memory issues: avoid clothing with logos and patterns when reproducing the crash condition. Continue updating Nvidia drivers first for the officially described hitching case.

Do not assume the planned controller binding reset, Normal respawn change, sensitivity increase, achievement repair, or Solo Beginner airdrop fix has reached the public build. The detailed plan helps identify an issue, but the player should still observe the current client and wait for a release confirmation.

Roadmap language belongs in a future or planned state. The launch overview describes what shipped. The known-issues article describes a mixture of active changes, planned hotfixes, and investigations. Keeping those states visible prevents a player from removing a working workaround too early.

Use updates to repair a guide decision

If a weapon or loadout item seems missing, compare the live menu with the August 13 list and then look for a later release notice. If Normal respawn behavior appears inconsistent, remember that a change was planned but not yet confirmed. If the game crashes around customized squad members, reduce the stated customization trigger while preserving a reproducible report.

Use Tech for system and controller diagnosis, Weapons for the 1.0 balance boundary, and Modes for the shipped Objective, Survival, and Solo rules. Keep update status in this single timeline so released changes, planned work, and known issues remain distinguishable without duplicating official notes.

The official article feed was rechecked on August 16, 2026. No post later than August 13 was present. Future entries should be added only after confirming their date, authorship, AppID or product type, platform, public release status, and which evergreen guides they change.
